UCD Rec Esports
First In-Person Broadcast
Once I got to UC Davis I picked up right where I left off with broadcasting. I secured a "studio" (more like a closet), recruited a team of casters, observers, and producers (shout out to the crew they're amazing), and got to work.
The first broadcast series the team and I tackled were the UCD Rec Esports tournaments. These were intramural esports tournaments like SLOLCS, and it was an easy conversation with them to put the games up on Twitch.
These tournaments were geared towards being learning experiences rather than pedal to the metal show off my production arsenal. 80% of UCD's casters and observers had never done casting or observing before. I mainly focused on the broadcasts being an educational
